So a lot has been going on since my brother cut his hair. For example, Jerry Rice can tell all of his friends that he finally got his picture with Joe Allen (it was the least I could do).
And moments later Tara and I got a picture with the Real Incredible Hulk. Mr. Lou Ferrigno

I think he was ducking so he didn’t get cropped out of the picture. This guy is a monster! And a total gentleman. He continued our quick conversation down the escalator by following us down and asking us some questions. Then I asked him if he played golf. He said yes, so I gave him a business card and hopefully he’ll call next time he’s in Vegas so we can go out and play a round (of golf that is). That’s it for now. Be good! (or don’t I don’t really care).

Here’s a new pict of my buddy Matthew who I miss a lot! I can’t wait to see him in August! It looks like he’s cheering his Dad on with his new job and very elegant haircut.

Just wanted to share some news from Vegas. The World Series of Golf 2008 was an extreme success. We had Ray Romano and FullTilt poker pro’s Daniel Negraneau, Phil Gordon, Phil Ivey, Chris “Jesus” Fergusen, Eric Lindgren and a few more. We also had a friend of the family (Denis’ friend) Joe Arena, (and now a friend of Edie and Bob) in the event as well. Joe played very well and there was no mistake that he came to gamble. He lasted 16 holes on day one but got knocked out. Joe was paired with last years winner, who lost on hole 9. So great job Joe, I know you’ll be back next year. And we can’t wait. The weeks, months and work leading up to the event have been great and to see the event go off so successfully was something special. We have a great group of people in the company and they truly made the event more than I could have imagined. ALL the players I spoke to held the event in very high regards and said that we take care of our players better than any event that they have played in. And some of these guys play in some big events. Mom and Dad came out to Vegas on Sunday the 10th and I met them at the airport. It was really great to see them, it has been a while. I had to go to work a few hours later so we didn’t get to spend that much time together that afternoon, but we made up with it by taking Mom to dinner for Mother’s Day, at Stack at the Mirage.
A great restaurant that should really learn to put the lid on the honey (ask me when you see me and I’ll explain). Then we had a drink with a bunch of folks from work and several who flew in for the event. It was safe to say that at that point it was going to be a fun week!Monday was registration and the opening night party (A white party theme, very cool)
The white party gave us access to the Dolphin habitat at the Mirage as well as the Secret Garden which is where the white tigers are. Yeah the one that bit Roy, or Zigfried, not sure which one.
Tuesday was opening day of golf and then a poker tournament. Wednesday was day 2 of golf and then a party at Revolution bar. Tara got into town on Wed. afternoon so she got to go to the party with us.

We had a blast. Then Thursday was the final round of golf and the closing night party. All good times. Then when I think its all over, Mr Joe Arena gets “comped” from the Mirage and takes ALL of us to lunch and dinner AND to see LOVE the Cirque du Soleil show! It was incredible (thanks again Joe). (Side note: And Andy McDowell was sitting in front of us).M&D went home on Saturday and Tara took the redeye Sunday night. It was a busy week, a fun week and now it’s back to work this week. Incoming June visitors:Jack & his girlfriend LindseyNeil, my buddy from NYColin, my buddy from NYTaraJuly visitors:Steve BeinerNutKevin BeinerKristy BeinerKatie Beinerand friends… (it’s Kevin’s 30th)August visitors:None scheduled, MAYBE IT’LL BE YOU. I will also be coming to NY in Aug.Hope all are well, talk soon.

This is a pretty big poster on the side of a gas station near work. Now the best part is that the Gas Station (which is a chain) is called Terribles. I sh*t you not.
Enjoy:

PS - I love that it’s over a big red garbage can. Think they are trying to tell people something?

So Tara came out last week to visit, and we an an absolute blast. I had to work a bit so in the beginning of the week she went to hang out with a friend of hers and they went to the Hoover Dam. One night we went to see Mystere at Treasure Island. It was incredible. It was the first time either one of us had been to a Circ Du Soleil. If you haven’t been GO. The rest of the week we went to a few dinners, just hung out and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Tara was a trooper and came to all 3 of my games. And a good luck charm, because as I mentioned we won all three.Friday got a day off so Tara and I headed out for a little golf. Miniature golf. It’s the most difficult mini-golf I’ve ever played. Some holes were like 75 yards! It was awesome. The weather was great and the sun was out all day. I must admit I lost a ball in the water. In mini-golf. I had to sneak back to the clubhouse and steal a ball from the big bucket when the guy wasn’t looking. Actually I took 3 just in case. Hey, it was only the 4th hole. It was a lot of fun. Here’s a pict.
Finally on Sunday we played tourist and hit the strip, went up to the top of the Stratosphere then all the way down the strip to the famous “Welcome to Vegas Sign”

She’ll be back out in a few weeks, same time as Mom and Dad. I’m looking forward to it.
OH, and then we went to the store and uh, well, I swear I didn’t see ‘em!

My friend Bob Romano has gotten engaged.
Bobby I wish you and Jean all the best. I would like to note the Heineken in the background, I wonder if that influenced her decision. I’m just saying…

…and thank you for not smoking…

I’ve realized a few very interesting things about radio stations in Vegas. They like a lot of heavy music. Metallica, Motley Crue etc. And they also play some songs they should not be played at all. And they play them a lot.
2 songs I’ve heard way too much.
1. Smoking in the Boys Room - Motley Crue. I can deal with that one.
2. That I would walk 500 miles song by that Irish or British band. It’s terrible and I hear it way too much.
Please come to Vegas, but bring some CDs…
